Great OP, **rigs**. We’ll have three cakes on Thursday. I need to get my butt in gear and get moving; I need to go see Libby and get back home to do litter boxes. Oh the joy that is my life. **taxi** , are you one of my coworkers? In other projects, we always stopped all developments in “development” and “quality check” systems during any go-live periods, copying the real, live data from the “real” systems down to the others so that any further dev and testing would be able to use realistic data. Because this is a very large company with very delicate data (ok, and 25 different teams with their hands in the pot, of course not talking to each other), that’s just Not Done. Which means that any tests I run are completely untrustworthy :smack: ---

Horrors! :eek: I am late to my own party! \ It’s great to see everyone! **Brainmeadow** and **MBG** –would you be so kind as to get the kegs out of the car? In honor of **swampus** , it’s Miller Time! I really want to try chocolate ships–they sound unfathomly delicious… \ well, what the hell, it might just be great! (I’ve never had a rutabaga in my life, that I know of) TULIPS in bloom in JULY? You DO live in the Far North. Whoa. **Mika** –IMO, the best thing about your childhood is that you survived it and (seriously) have learned what not to do to others (by example, if nothing else). **Nava** –one more thing that America got backward, no? Football, and hockey…we would probably call bull runs cattle races. \ Oh, and happy burfday to **Papa Tigs**! I hope he’s feeling better. My sisters were a mixed lot. Sandy had some emotional issues (and was possibly mentally ill–too late now to know for sure). But she had a wicked sense of humor and loved to party. Leigh was kind, and sweet and quite shrewd. She was an underwriter for a huge international insurance company and she went to France twice a year because she loved it so much. She was fluent in French and was complimented on her accent several times. She also loved to party. Thanks to all of you for toasting my sibs and for coming to my party! (I wasn’t sure if the OP was too gloomy, but I’m glad I posted it now). ---

Oh and I meant to say thanks to \*\*MagicEyes \*\*for her sympathy on my cat-ear-drops thing from last week’s MMP. Since this is the 3rd or 4th time we’ve done ear drops for this cat, it’s starting to get easier. Although I think she thinks it’s a game when I chase her around to try to catch her to give her the drops. But at least it’s a lot less traumatic for both of us than it has been before. But I could do without having to give her drops for two weeks every couple months. ---

**Rigs…** _raises coffee cup up in your and their honor_ You had yours a shorter time than I’ve had my sisters; but yours were a lot better. My sisters only contact me to whine/kvetch/complain about why I won’t go along with their plans to sue my brother over my parents estate. Not wanting to sue family? Go figure. :rolleyes: Happier moments: whilst driving to my MIL’s house on the Garden State Parkway with my sons and I yesterday, another driver cut off my wife. Forgetting I had youngsters in the back seat, I said out-loud “That car’s driver drives like a Moron”. Youngest (age 4) then pipes in “Yeah Daddy. He drives like he’s in a Zoo. A Zoo for Morons…!” A more apt description of an American highway on a Sunday in Summer I have yet to hear. To change the subject, my wife suggested that he sing ‘Its a Small World After All’ (which he likes to do). He had just gotten to the line “And the smiles that we share…” when my oldest piped in “Are just Too much to bare…” :eek: My wife shot me a look and I asked her, "Honey? Ever wonder if you’re really just stuck in a movie theatre in the Phoebe Cates role in ‘Gremlins’ "? _Death Stare Response_ “Don’t look at me. You’re the one who fed them after midnight…” 😃 ---

Goodness, y’all are such a chatty bunch this morning–wait, it’s after noon in Michigan now… Don’t mind me, I just woke up about an hour ago. 😛 Like everyone else has said, that was quite the poignant OP, **Rigs**. I hope this day involves sweet memories of your sisters and lots of friends to spend the day with! I would toast to you if I could stand drinking alcohol. **Drae** , you don’t need to worry about overreacting to any sort of reproductive pain. When it comes to those areas, every woman has the right to complain as much as she wants, because as far as I know, there’s no pain like it. Inner organs have a habit of hurting in a way that tears down your resistance. Just take some Aleve or whatever and try to solve the problem as quickly as possible. This may be coming a little late, but thank you so much for all of the support with the difficulties **Ali** and I have been going through. We appreciate it more than you could ever know. And as for everyone who’s said that “the parents will have to come around” – I believed that, before I heard **Ali** ’s father ranting at us. Now, I am not so sure. I never thought there could be someone who would prefer to stay in his “little white areas” over accepting his own son, but having witnessed it occur, my faith is somewhat shaken. In a positive note, though, both of _my_ parents have landed solidly on **Ali** ’s and my side. In fact, yesterday morning, my mom called me up just to say that “Dad and I got to talking about this, and it’s so sad, really, watching someone withhold love as a means of punishment. Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Jesus all about unconditional love?” (Which is interesting to hear from her, considering she’s a self-identified “heathen” and more of a spiritualist than anything else.) Both of my parents, while thinking I’m taking a bit of a risk, have offered us their support, which is very comforting in the situation. ---
