Am I supposed to vote for “other”, since I’m straight? I mean, it depends on what your question is. Do you want to know how many bis there are out in the general population? Then I should vote. Do you want to know the distribution of bis? Then I shouldn’t. ---

No, I would assume ‘other’ meant you were a bi person dating someone you didn’t think fit into one of the above categories i.e. trans or maybe you are bi but in a polygamous relationship. ---

Crap…I messed up and only saw “male” and “single” and voted…I shouldn’t have voted since I’m straight. So…subtract one from the single bi male category. :smack: I’m wondering if the poll/question is wondering whether they’re are more bi females than males? ---

as i have had experience with a female I am technically bi, though I do not normally find myself attracted nor do I seek out females. I am currently monogamous [for some 20+ years] ---

I asked a similar question to my friends on LJ a few years ago. It seemed like a LOT of them were bi. Interestingly, though, every single bi-identified person on my flist in a relationship was in one with someone of the opposite sex. The whys varied person by person. At least one woman said that she felt culturally pressured to settle down with a man, and one man said that while he’s attracted to men, he’s _more_ attracted to women. I’ll be interested to see how this poll goes. Rather to my own disappointment, I am just straight. If you could actually choose a sexuality, I would definitely be bi! (Or more bi, I guess, since some people believe we’re all on a spectrum of bisexuality.) More options = better! ---

i have no idea what the true definition of what i am is - i prefer to think of myself as just sexual. I have only ever dated men, but i’ve played with women and would like to do so again. But playing and dating are 2 different beasts to me. Sexually adventurous, in a committed relationship with a man. ---

I occasionally want to kiss a man or sleep with him somehow, but I find the penis to be a turn-off. I guess that makes me a bi-curious other. ---

Many of my friends who identify as bisexual draw a distinction (consciously or unconsciously) between the sexes that they’re sexually attracted to, and the one that they pursue relationships with. Off the top of my head, I can only think of two of my self-identified bisexual friends who have had serious relationships with members of both sexes. I obviously don’t claim to have other than anecdotal evidence, but it certainly seems to me that bisexual people could be divided into two [heh] camps: 1) those that are sexually interested in both sexes, but are only interested in relationships with one, 2) and those that are open to relationships with both. [Presume that I mean “serious relationship” in all of the cases that I mention it above. Obviously, even occasional casual sex with someone counts as a relationship of sorts.] ---
