# Bizarre computer problem

I plugged in some different speakers on my computer. No sound would come out.
I plugged in my old speakers. Now no sound would come out of them.
I checked all connections.
I checked all settings.
Theres no reason for no sound.
I plugged a pair of head phones in. They work.
I plug the speakers in the headphone slot. No sound.
**Now heres the bizarre part:**
Now when either set of speakers are plugged in, not only do I not get any sound, but videos freeze up. I unplug the speakers and the video (I’m talking YouTube) unfreezes.
WTF is going on?

I guess these are digital speakers and the soundcard has some problem communicating with them. Maybe re-installing the soundcard drivers will solve the problem.

I figured it out. I was trying to hook up 4 speakers for a surround sound effect . The 2 new ones were digital, the old ones aren’t. I’ll have a look see but I’m guessing I can’t use the old ones any more.

Shouldn’t be a problem. Go to start: control panel: sounds and audio devices. Under the volume tab, click on advanced under speaker options. You should have a selection of different speaker options available. You should find a combination that will work.
