Tipp City is a small, quiet, and fairly affluent city just north of Dayton. A 37 year old woman was murdered in her home there (shot twice) on Monday at 2:30 in the morning. Her name is Ashley Flynn. She was a grade school teacher, and she lived with her husband and two young children in a nice house in a very quiet cul-de-sac. All four of them were home when it occurred. Her husband is a pastor & musician who once auditioned for American Idol (video interview).
Reports indicate it was an apparent robbery. The investigation is ongoing. This is extremely unusual, as it’s almost unheard of for someone to break into a house when there’s a very high probability of it being occupied. Especially in this location.
