I bought one Bjork CD, listened to it a couple of times, and then saved one song to my computer. From having seen a few videos of her other songs, I’m relatively sure that my having saved only one song was the way to go. She only has one song. Playing it at different tempos with different lyrics doesn’t make it different songs regardless of what she might believe. ---

I haven’t listened to enough Bjork’s more recent solo stuff, but I liked the first couple and was a big Sugar Cubes fan. Her solo stuff is pretty interesting-- very creative stuff. I can not, however,deal with watching Dancer in the Dark again in my lifetime. BTW-- she and Matthew Barney are involved and have a kid, I believe-- what a strange couple. Imagine having those two as your parents-- coolest fucking kid in school. ---

I saw the Sugar Cubes on SNL during my college radio year and it was horrible and creepy even for me. And that’s going up against Henry Rollins’ spoken word stuff. ---

The sing they did first was ‘Birthday’, I think. I watched, thinking, “What is that lady doing? Is she choking or shreiking or something?” I still couldn’t tell you even today. Long story short, Nawth Chucka does NOT get Bjork. Sorry I don’t know how to add the umlaut. ---

[/QUOTE] Like the other poster I was a fan of her first two solo albums and then lost track. I was around puberty at the time, and in my mind she was having some sort of orgasm in every other song. Hunnnghy, hunnnghy, hunnghy, hungh Ye How! Was some of actually Icelandic? Some of it sounded like it, such as after the above grunt-quote from me. Super bonus points for anybody who guesses what song I’m thinking of there. ---

Bjork is one of my favorite artists. She has a haunting voice, and a way with words. It is not something that is ‘deep’ or something that one needs to ‘get’. It is simply a beautiful, expressive voice and a quirky, (dare I say poetic?) way with words. ---

I absolutely adore Bjork as a solo-artist. I haven’t heard her latest yet, but will order it some time this month. Her last album took me a while before I really _got_ it. There is a world of difference between Bjork earlier, more poppy work and the music she makes nowadays. ---

I used to have “Selmasongs”, but only saved 1 song-“New World”. I do like her voice. Reminds me of Joanna Newsom. ---

I think the full title is “Selmasongs: Music From The Motion Picture Soundtrack Dancer In The Dark.” I liked it. It was just time to get rid of some CDs, though, and I only saved the song I liked best. ---

I remember her from the Sugar Cubes, and I thought she was ok. My son wants to marry her. He thinks she’s the ultimate hottie. I’m _so_ not getting that. She’s interesting…gotta give her that. ---

I’m surprised people have heard the Sugar Cubes but not an actual Bjork album. _Post_ and _Homogenic_ are incredible. ---

I think she’s brilliant, I loved her videos on MTV (back when). I’d love to see what she and Barney come up with, there’s got to be something good cooking in that relationship. ---

She was on SNL a couple of weeks ago and my husband and I just sat there and watched it with raised eyebrows. I like to think I’m pretty open-minded, but it didn’t make sense to me. The music wasn’t lovely, her voice didn’t appeal to me, and all of the wacky outfits and things didn’t help much. I guess I’m one of those people who doesn’t like experimental music like Bjork. ---

Actually her music isn’t that experimental, but her choice in singles is just… weird. They seem to always take the least accesible song to release as a video. I haven’t heard this album yet, but that was already the case with _Debut_. The first single was _Human Behaviour_, while there were much more commercial tracks on the album. I would suggest checking out _Homogenic_ at least once. There are some really beautiful songs on there that are very easy to listen to. ---
