When is it apprpriate to wear black fishnet stockings withOUT looking like a hooker? Or, are they a no no anymore? Thanks ---

**Delila,** contrary to the comments of the fashion-ignorant posters thusfar (… **wring,** you really gotta get out more often buddy…) fishnets are back in fashion. Wear 'em any time in a reasonably dressy context and you should be fine. If not, it’s their fault, not yours. ---

As a…carefully observer of women’s fashion, I can say that fishnets are, in fact, back in style. And if they aren’t, I’m going to write my congressman to see what can be done about it. Seriously, they have amde a come back. Any place fairly dressy, and goth club, any 50s place, pretty much any club. I see a lot of them at the club I go dancing at on friday/saturdays, and they are amoung the more modest of the attire worn there (and it is not a particularly riske club). ---

Black fishnet stockings are just perfect, any time, any place, anywhere. I just wanted to post this response on behalf of myself and about several hundred million other men. And **Delila** , I’d say it’s the woman who either does or doesn’t look (sound and act) like a hooker, not the stockings. Class shines. ---

I love my fishnet stockings. I’ve got a red pair and a bright pink pair, and eventually I’m going to get a black pair and an off-white pair. They’re especially fun to wear when it’s going to look just slightly out of place, like when you’re dressed up with pretty sober\* looking clothing on. [sub]By sober I mean conservative. You know, stuff that’d be apropriate for a funeral.[/sub] ---

Think of them as the one bold accesory in an otherwise simple outfit. (ie You wouldn’t wear an outrageous bejewelled necklace/earrings with a sequinned, bold dress…you’d wear one or the other.) I would wear black fishnets with a plain, little black dress, minimal jewelry, and simple heels. (Plus some crimson lipstick.) But that’s just my opinion, YMMV. ---

The smaller the holes, the less slutty they look. So you can wear finely woven fishnets almost anywhere, and get the positive “hey! she’s wearing fishnet stockings” points without getting the negative “um, she’s wearing fishnet stockings” points. Otherwise what Sue and ssskuggiii said. ---

Black fishnet stockings have never gone out of style with the true afficianido. \ And, I disagree sorta, with **amarinth**. The big, netlike fishnets are far hotter than the “is she or isn’t she?” small mesh fishnets. Best way to wear fishnet stockings is, starting from the top, A top hat. A lA female version of a tuxedo jacket (tails and all) with a vest/corset thing. Panties, fishnets, medium high heels. Speaking backwards also adds to the allure of this ensemble. Failing that, a black leather jacket, a one-piece bathing suit (in black of course), the fishnets, and medium-high heels. Yes, I did read comics as a kid. I love fishnet stockings. They make my legs look all neat and kinky. I had a black pair that I wore to school and synagogue. I do it partly to piss people off, and partly cuz they look good on me. However, my one precious pair now has a giant hole in it so I have to drag my ass over to Hot Topic and muy myself new ones. ---

Do what I do - live in them. I have a bright pink pair, two black pairs [different sized holes] and some spider-webby ones with safety pins holding them together. I wear the plain black ones most days, usually to school under my uniform…ohh, how risque. ---
