And Hannukah doesn’t compare to Christmas at all.
in Israel Hannukah is not a major shopping event…So there is an increase in retail sales, but it’s not a huge cultural thing like Christmas shopping.

So what is the big gift giving holiday/season in Israel, if any?

Gifts are given on Passover and Rosh Hashana,(the latter especially), but they’re generally much more modest than Christmas presents.
