IIRC the Chinese had a great deal to do with gold mining in the west. Should be of some interest to your wife. Don’t know if they had much to do with Black Hills mining though.
man, I think I’m finally figuring out what goes in General Questions and what goes IMHO. I used to think a GQ was if you were asking a question, and IMHO if you’re sharing some trivia. I now understand the overlap to be if you’re asking a question and the answer is an opinion then it should be IMHO.
Thanks for the link on Jackalopes. [smacks head] Didn’t think of checking with the master first. I took postcards of the Jackalope and trout the size of a whale to Tibet several times. The Tibetans loved ‘em. However, what really knocked the socks off of the Tibetans was a photo I took of a big ol’ honkin’ black bull famed for the strenth of his semen. Dunno, 1000 pounds, 2000 pounds, he was a monster at the Denver stock show. Well, anyhoo, the Tibetan nomads, being pastoralists that survive herding Yaks, thought the bull was waaaaaaay cooler than the Jackalope or trout.
July 14 we start the adventure. Probably can’t post until after we get back from the black hills.
