If I’m going to reply to a post, I try not to indulge in skimming. That doesn’t mean that I don’t misunderstand sometimes or make other mistakes. But I just hate it when I come across as being a sloppy drunk.

I agree with **Zoe** , especially about replying to a thread. If I feel I must contribute, then I think it’s only respectful of the former participants that I read their contributions before I make my own.

[pet peeve]

When people _obviously_ haven’t read enough to know that something they are now saying has already been done… to death. Probably more eloquently too and pertinent to ongoing discussion.

**Zoe, hopefool** We are not talking about skimming threads that we are going to reply to (I think). I wouldn’y skim an OP or thread if I was going to reply to it.
