My Dad used to remove them by tying a knot of pure silk thread around them very tightly. They just wither and die painlessly. The thread has to be silk though but I don’t know why except that other types of thread just don’t work well.
Rob, you beat me to this method ! I had one on my neck in an inconvenient place and someone told me about the thread method. I admit I didn’t use silk thread, just standard sewing thread. Amazingly I was able to contort myself enough to tie a knot around that thing. It took about three days I think, and worked just fine…
