I love chocolate, but on fires?
I don’t think so…
I’ve already thought about chocolate potato chips, but there are some things that justdon’t go together.
Chooclate is fine by itself.
Whats next? Chocolate covered spinach?

By and large, this line of potato products seems to have been devised under the influence of a great deal of crack. The sole exception is the delectable innovation, overlooked by the press release and everyone so far, of the donut-tot. The sour cream & chives flavor has a plain sibling without any nasty flavor tampering, but which shares a borehole along its long axis, allowing the inside of the tater tot to crisp as well as the exterior. Mmmm…crunchy!

AAAHHH. Yes, see I was thinking that all of that described one product. The very thought was making me quite ill. 😛

Ore-Ida fries aren’t greasy, though. Not if you bake them in the oven. In fact, even from a deep-frier, they’re still not greasy if you drain them well.

[Here](http://www.nick.com/ads/oreida/) are photos of the new products. **caveman** , those Crunchy Rings look goooooood! I’m not sure I’ve seen them in the stores yet, though.

In fact, Heinz is covering all the bases by introducing new flavors of [ketchup](http://www.heinz.com/jsp/news_f.jsp). (Scroll down to the May 17 “Flavour Craver” link.) Imagine combining the Sour Cream & Jive fries with the Roasted Garlic ketchup! Your mouth would vibrate for hours.

We did it! Mr. Rilch and I taste-tested this combination yesterday afternoon! First off, the tastes did compliment each other. As for the quality of the flavor…It wasn’t overwhelming. It was perhaps a bit subdued; if a restaurant had this as a specialty, it might be more intense, or it might be the same. At any rate, it’s something we plan to do again.

It may be the one crossover, though. I can’t quite see Sweet Basil and Oregano ketchup blending well with the Cocoa Crispers, or Hot and Spicy with the Cinna-Stiks. I imagine that the Crunchy Rings are just shape-shifting Tater Tots, and the Kool Blues are regular seasoned fries; they would react with the new ketchups no differently than their alter egos would.

Her Majesty, the Fry Queen._
