Good choice. I was at a concert of his in Pittsburgh a few years ago where he played that whole album from start to finish. Amazing!!

What do you mean by “not much of a dent”? MfM were pretty popular. I only knew these songs as being MfM songs long before I knew them as Springsteen songs.

All I meant was that those two singles, For You and Spirit in the Night, didn’t make a dent in the charts. Blinded by the Light was huge for them, obviously.

Think you’re confusing albums. Those lyrics are from Not Now John, which is on The Final Cut, not *The Wall. * Tigers was written for The Wall, but the rest of the band thought it was too personal and rejected it. It is available on the 2004 reissue of The Final Cut.

I know the difference. (You think I’d quote the lyrics “not now John” and not know they were from Not Now John?)

I was making a comment about Waters crybaby attitude about the film.

Did Springsteen’s version of Spirit in the Night chart at all? Manfred Mann did two versions and the second made it to 66 on the Billboard Hot 100. I think the first version did well also.

Was the Beatles’ Day Tripper a prick teaser or a big teaser? Either way, she took him half the way there.

Also, the first song my son learned to play on his guitar when he was in a kids’ band when he was about 8. The little girl who sang it did a great job.
