I don’t know about the rules in this CEDA (which is supposedly the biggest debate organization in the country), but when I was doing it NFA was the big leagues and none of that shit would fly. Come to think of it, I don’t remember Towson St. being a member college either. It’s clear that the two sides had agreed beforehand that they were going to subvert the championship round, and I question the wisdom of any organization that would have let this fly, I don’t care how ebonically aware they are. Bottom line: the debate was supposed to be about the resolution. Not a speed-speaking or rapping contest. Neither would this auctioneer reading of plans have been acceptable. Seriously, wtf happened to debate? Believe it or not, it actually used to have some prestige. Speakers actually talked at a normal speed so you didn’t need a translator to tell what they were saying, too. ---

What would being a “hoax” entail? Dumb-ass frat boys just stirring up some shit for the hell of it? Dumb ass activists stirring up some shit? If there is one racist asshole on the campus (as statistics imply is a near certainty) why should I care, assuming that the rest of the campus is moderately sane and responsible? Because all it would take is one, and all it would mean is one. ---
