As a former Video Store owner, I can sympathize with you when it comes to BlockBuster…my wife works there as well.
The only movies you’ll see on their shelves are New Releases and proven older flicks. Nothing even remotely obscure…like a Spader film.
It’s mainstream…or nothing…and games… plenty o’ games. Late charges are nearly 40% of any video store’s gross revenue. Games are almost always late.
I had an adult section in my store. A full third of my gross came from behind those doors. I’d buy 17 movies for 250 bux, and have it paid for in 7-10 days. Rent them for another 3 weeks, netting about a 1000 bux off that batch, then sell them for “cost” and buy a new bunch. We had about 200 titles at any given time…
One time, 2 porn flicks were returned covered in sperm.
No problem…I threw them away (washed my hands about eleventy jillion times) and charged his account with the cost of the flicks…he paid for them about a month later.
