I know you just said that your wife has high blood pressure, but does she read much about what healthy blood pressure numbers look like or is she focusing mostly on what’s high? If so, she might have just gotten a slightly skewed perspective on what’s normal/abnormal.
For what it’s worth, I’m an active pregnant female with a BP of 110/59 and a pulse rate of 54. Granted, my blood pressure tends to be slightly higher when I’m not pregnant (around 120/65), but my docs tell me that my BP is very healthy and reflects an active lifestyle and healthy (well, mostly healthy lately) eating habits. Oh, and I’ve never had a Xanax in my life.
Assuming that you’re taking your meds as prescribed and that your doc is taking your BP & pulse when you visit, I’d listen to what your doc has to say.
