OK, I CAN ANSWER THIS!!!
my eyes are green
my dad’s are brown
and my mom’s are blue
I’m pink therefore I’m Spam
My father’s eyes were brown, my mother’s eyes are green. My sister and I both have brown eyes. (I don’t remember the eye color of my older brother’s children). Just about all the people in my mother’s family have green eyes, except, of course, for their spouses. Obviously my father’s brown-eye gene overrode the green-eye gene from my Mom.
I read somewhere (don’t remember where) about a gene that is in between dominant and recessive for eye color. It is the gold gene. The gold gene will show up as green with a blue gene and be hidden behind a brown gene, unless the brown gene is not a very dark one and then the eyes can be hazel. This same article also said that there is more than one set of genes that control eye color (but brown is always dominant). It did not give a suggestion for what would happen if a person inherited more than one gold gene. Could two green eyed people possibly have a goldish-eyed baby that people would see as brown? I remember this article because I had blue eyes until puberty and they then turned green and I always thought it was weird.
