I like my blue-eyed soul in its evolved British 80s/90s form of [sophisti-pop](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sophisti-pop). _Swing Out Sister_, _Danny Wilson_, _Deacon Blue_, _Prefab Sprout_, that kind of thing. The previously-mentioned _ABC_, too. ---

I’m surprised no one has mentioned that Paul Young hit from the '80s - “Every Time You Go Away”. I haven’t heard anything else he’s done, but that song surely qualified for this category. ---
