Ok, you tell me then. What color is my home state right now based upon your definition that nobody else uses? Purple? Since Grassley(R) has been in office longer than Harkin(D), Red?

Defining a state blue or red is meaningless in the first place. Doing so via their senators and nothing else takes it to another level of stupidity.

BTW, the true salient point is that consistently can also mean frequently, regularly, routinely, and others [as well.](http://thesaurus.com/browse/consistently) So give it a rest.
