The hard drive on my piece of crap work computer died an ugly death yesterday afternoon, so now I’m sitting here changing the settings on my new-to-me piece of crap the way I like them (as much as I’m allowed to because of stupid admin restictions). Sometime within the next six months or so we’re all getting brand new pieces of crap (dual processors!) with MicroSoft’s spanky new operating system with all kinds of nice features that our IT people are going to disable so we don’t need to bother, really, but IT people have to eat too. I guess. At this point I’d starve a couple if I thought I could get away with it. Those jerkwads have the admin controls on these things screwed down so tight that I can’t even change the (now totally unnecessary) _screensaver_. I can’t even change the screensaver delay time. Also, my network login and email login used to be synchronized, but not any more. Assholes. I hate this stupid computer, I hate the entire IT department, and I hate the guy in the sissy-looking yellow rain slicker who decided to stand in the middle of the street this morning during rush hour and extensively examine his navel, or whatever the hell it was that he was doing. I, too, was unable to see the studio pics. ☹ Hey, does ordering something from a restaurant eight hundred miles away and having it Fed Exed count in the “how far” contest? For my 50th (cough, hack) birfday, my family ordered sauce and meatballs from our favorite Eye-talian place in the town where I grew up. Dry ice is a wonderful thing. I am SICK! I knew it was coming on but it settled in good around midnight last night. How do I know this? That is when I woke coughing and my thrope hurted. 😛 All achy and chilled this AM. Good Morning and Happy Wednesday, everyone! I couldn’t see the studio pics either, **FCM** , but your pottery is great! I think the little blue demitasse looks like a perfect ice cream dish (when one is having a polite serving, of course. Not the “empty the cabinets into the ice cream” type serving). I’ve only been to Ohio once, and I saw an interesting roadside sculpture when I was there. Corn. Lots and lots of corn. It was row after row of 8 foot ears of corn. It was many years ago, and I don’t remember where in Ohio I was, or why this existing. But sure enough, there it was. **Dot** , I’m sorry to hear about your friend. And, as others have said, don’t stick with that job if you don’t have to. **Drae** - so, was _Superman_ worth it? How fast should I get myself to the theater? And I think H & K just forgot about the one on 17 - or, they knew they could never figure out where to make the u-turn, so going all the way to Cherry Hill might have been faster! I went shopping last night, to the place my household calls the M-A-double hockey sticks (so called because it’s HUGE, has a mean and terrible parking lot, and is usually smelly on the outside and loud & crowded on the inside). I won’t go on the weekends, for the reasons just given, but a weeknight is generally safe. Sadly, I had no ice cream while I was there, even though they have frozen custard kiosks. Instead, I bought a new handbag and a really cute pair of capris. I tried to get my daughter to come with me, but she’s got that summer vacation lazy thing going on that you mention with your son, **rigs**. Can’t seem to get off the couch. Although she doesn’t go for the Nintendo or other games. She sat on the couch all day yesterday and made 5 or 6 sock monkeys. I also bought colored mini-marshmallows to make stained-glass cookies with. (excuse me, that should be “with which to make stained-glass cookies”). And he can help cut shrub in the back. I AM SO BORED WITH STAYING HOME AND WAITING FOR STUFF!! Had a dream that I had sex with Governor Rod Blagoy-however you spell it. Isn’t that weird as hell? He is sooo not my type. Have some chocolate. Really. It helps. And then kick the washer guys really hard. I just woke up from the most messed up dreams I’ve had in a long time. I am glad to be awake and drinking tea, even if it means I have to do stuff. It means I’m _not_ flying around Gotham trying not to be caught by a Nazgul. I think I will bake today, even if I have to turn on the air conditioner. A week and a half until Best Friend and her husband get here, yay! ---

Hi everyone! ::waving:: People are busy aroud here today, eh? **dot** , count me in the 'quit" camp. That’s just unreasonable to work for people like that. There’s a place by us that does a corn maze every Halloween, but there’s no beer or fancy dinner. I think I’ve become immune to coffee, I am SOOOO sleepy here. Someone call Alice my haircut lady and tell her to get off the phone so I can schedule to see her today please? Huh?..oh, yeah. **rigs** , that’s an A-1 disturbing dream. My dream du jour was odd, but didn’t involve executive branch sex. I was back in the hi-rise management biz, and met my new boss, who was a highly energetic lady. She wanted me to show her around the property, and was literally running up fire stairs to get to the roof, and all i could think was how sleepy I was. How’s that for sleepy? Even in my dreams, I’m sleepy. ☹ ---
