I didn’t want to hijack the smilie thread, so I’ll put the quote here.
And for those who weren’t here, a few years ago, there was a months-long board crash, and the whole message board was relocated to a place where Smashie was available.
Now I knew about the “winter of lost content thing”, is this what **FisherQueen** was referencing? I know my membership says that I’ve been here since 09-26-2001, but there was a big gap in the time I joined and the time I became a regular poster. I was just looking for a little SDMB history clarification. Bonus points for enlightening me on which board everybody relocated to.

Sorry if this is one of those things we’re not supposed to bring up.

I remember it - it was in the spring of 2002 and the board was relocated to a forum on [bbboy.net](http://bbboy.net) - set up and paid for by **TubaDiva** , I think.

It was a bit of a hoot at first, because lots of the default features were initially unlocked, so for example, there was a ‘whoview’ tag that would insert the username of whoever was reading it (assuming they were logged in), so someone could post a thread saying:

> [@](#):
>
> [whoview] is my favourite poster on the board

, and everyone reading it would see their own username in there and think it meant them.

That’s funny, **Mangetout** is my favourite poster on the board

Yes, I was referring to the Winter of our Missed Content. Strange days, indeed.
