The “Other Boards” thread was closed wile I was reading it. But in all of the request for clarification one thing was never asked. ``` What exactly are **Board Wars**? ``` ---

It’s where the members of two message boards get into a grudge match against each other and show up on each others board to cause trouble. Search for “Left Behind Message Board” to see a board war the SDMB had years ago. ---

I can’t get the search function to work. I just get a blank page and refreshing tells me I just searched. For what it’s worth I’m near positive it was started by a poster named Satan and it was in 2001 or earlier. ---

IME Board Wars are most often nipped in the bud by mods, so most people don’t realise that an attempt was made. Sorry, but I can’t give links. ---

There was a good one with one of the more “influential” white supremacist message boards more recently. 2005ish, maybe\>? ---

As fun as it is to talk about past board wars, I think **Glazer** wanted to know, in general, what constitutes one. A board war is when a bunch of posters from one messageboard join another for the sole purpose of raising havoc and being jerks. The SDMB has weathered two such attacks: one from the Left Behind messageboard and another from Stormfront, a neo-nazi board.
