Hi All, I am an America living in the Philippines. I need to return to America sometime in the next few months, and I was wondering if it was possible for me to travel from the Philippines, or Asia, by boat to America ? I think it might be a fun, if sometimes boring, adventure. I grew up around boats, and I know the travel would probably take a couple of months. I am not seeking a cruise ship, just some kind of boat or ship to make the journey. What, if any, options would I have ? Thanks !

Freighter cruises might be one way. There are companies that book passengers onto working cargo ships. I didn’t see any to Manila, but there are a [number of companies](http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=Freighter+cruise+travel+agency&btnG=Search) that will help you book with the shipping lines. There is regularly-scheduled service to and from Hong Kong, Shanghai, Jakarta, New Zealand, etc.
