I read in the paper last week that Bob Braun of 50/50 Club fame has passed away.

My grandma loved Bob Braun and that show!

Anyone know what I’m talking about?

Yep, Bob Braun and Paul Dixon (“The Mayor of Kneesville”) were well-known around the entire Avco Broadcasting Network region (best known as the career birthplace of Phil Donahue). Braun was amazing for his ability to talk continuously without actually saying anything, and when he ran out of material, having whatsername sing “May the Bird of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose.”

I think the Craftmatic Adjustable Bed commercials were actually a good career move. But bye-bye anyway, Bob.

I really miss those real estate infomercials that he used to be on (as a sidekick to Tony Hoffman, who would later do screwdriver infomercials) back in the 80s.
