Got tickets for old times sake mostly, have seen him about 10 times but not since 2002. Low expectations but damn, the man has still got it at 78! I am now listening to the show I saw. Things Have Changed (Bob on guitar) It Ain’t Me, Babe Highway 61 Revisited Simple Twist of Fate Can’t Wait When I Paint My Masterpiece Honest With Me Tryin’ to Get to Heaven Make You Feel My Love Pay in Blood Lenny Bruce Early Roman Kings Girl From the North Country Not Dark Yet Thunder on the Mountain Soon After Midnight (followed by band introductions) Gotta Serve Somebody Ballad of a Thin Man (Bob on guitar) It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry Of particular note are the last two songs. Rocked the house down. I would not have thought it possible that I would ever prefer the live versions of those songs over the original, but hell I may. Time will tell. Bob Fucking Dylan! ---

The set list looks good, looks like he’s finally got rid of the boring American songbook routine. Saw him last in 2018 in Krefeld, and other than the Sinatra songs (they were not that bad, but I could have lived without them) it was a tremendous show. Encores were a great “Ballad Of A Thin Man” and “Blowin’ In The Wind” as a waltz. Unfortunately, that time he didn’t play any guitar or harmonica, but mostly stayed behind his piano, only to come out for the show songs into the spotlight with only a mic. ---

I had read that he no longer plays guitar on stage, but I looked up the set list and saw that he did on the opener Things Have Chaged. Was a little worried about the man when he came out from the piano to sing, he took a couple of steps back, I thought he was going to fall down. But he did it later in the concert. Maybe so he could hear the band better, I don’t know. Anyway got a t-Shirt. Inexplicable film noir image on the front, “Beacon Theatre” at the top, “Bob Dylan and his Band” at the bottom, tour dates at the Beacon on the back. ---

wait, I think I get it. Beacon Theatre, the show was a film noir. My brother got a T-shirt, it had knights, or mongols, or whoever, on horseback.
