Bob Mould can out-macho Rob Hallford with the way he ties his shoelaces. Bob Mould was one third of one of the best hardcore punk band of the '80’s, Hüsker Dü. **Black Sheets of Rain** is the best power-trio breakup album of all time. I got to sing “Celebrated Summer” with him at one of his shows because his voice was shot and he asked if anybody in the audience knew the words. I was drunk and couldn’t hear anything, so my singing was worse than it normally is (which is bad). And I was so excited I forgot to take off my backpack, so I looked like a bigger nerd than usual (which is a lot). Still, a highlight of my life. I met him a couple of times in the early nineties, heck of a nice guy. ---

I’m not sure if I could sing (in my case mumble along to) very many Mould/Husker Du songs. I could manage [Don’t want to know if you are lonely](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZmdzQpRuiQ&feature=related) and [The Girl who lives on Heaven Hill](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUVuUvddivo&feature=related) and probably [Makes no sense at all](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1sYN0PuRs4&feature=related) A fantastic band. I wonder if the master tapes are still out there somewhere, quite a lot of their stuff could do with being cleaned up a bit. Although the very trebly production is part of the attraction I guess. ---
