In this thread [http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=847930](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=847930) I nominated myself:eek: for worldā€™s most underrated guitarist ,and walked into a friendly ā€œGo ahead and post a link.ā€:smack:šŸ˜ƒ I made a joke, declined, and shut up:rolleyes:šŸ†’ Mrs Bitchinā€™ laughed and said time to put up or shut upā€¦and sheā€™s right. As posted in the other thread Iā€™m not thrilled with my performance but for all Iā€™ve done itā€™s the only recording I have. One of the other band members has hours of footage, from jams,practices, gigs etc. He sent me this one video six years ago and then nothin. Iā€™m hoping views and likes might get him off his duff. If it does Iā€™ll post all of it. Some might like it, others may crap themselves silly, but very few will be as disappointed as my parents are.šŸ˜ƒ Last note, this is not my YouTube account, but I have to assume itā€™s either my bandmate or a friend of his, so Iā€™m assuming if it gets traffic, heā€™ll get the message. Thanks for sharing. The recording is not optimal, but I get a sense for how it sounded live and itā€™s cool. So wait - ā€œleadā€ - so your the Flying V? Or the what-appears-to-a-Music Man, maybe an EVH? Either way the guitars sound good and balanced in the mix with the vocal and the playing is great. I just did some guide tracks for my drummer, I may post a couple in the GOGT. ---

Thank you for the kind words, man :smack: yeah, Iā€™m the guy with the V (91custom shop:cool:) first lead.šŸ˜ƒ The one that starts out tentative and oh so outa tune. The other guitarist wrote it before we metā€¦it was just everything I wasnā€™t. If I get more videos, Iā€™ll be gushing over those leads:rolleyes: this was my fish out water moment:D ---

Hahahahaha! I grew up in Arlington\*, but donā€™t remember Fatsoā€™s. I like your lead a lot, even if youā€™re not fond of it. Itā€™s perfectly competent, and moves everything along nicely. The other guitaristā€™s tone and heavy chorus kind of ruin it for me, but it was a different era. šŸ™‚ \*I remember _Metal Magic_ era Pantera, which forever colored my perception of them. ---

Nice chops. This was 1992-1994ish? I think itā€™s so easy to get into the rhythm where you jam together, maybe record occasionally but not with a ā€œthis is going to be a serious recordingā€ attitude, and never quite move behind the just-having-fun modality and try to do something with it. Not that thereā€™s anything wrong with having fun. Playing should be. Anyway, good on you for putting it out there and letting us hear it. ---

The other guitarist was playing thru a CRATE solid state stack. He shopped by price and size, left his ears at home. I went shopping with him and he disregarded everything I said. ( Hey I was young and dumb too, but I had a vintage Marshall stack) I saw Pantera for the first time at the Basement just after Metal Magic came out. Terry was still singing. They were opening on a Tuesday night or something. I talked to them after the show ( I was 15/16) Terry didnā€™t wanna talk, Darrell basically wanted to get to the bar(surprise) Vinnie was extra cool, I think he suspected I busted ass to get in there.(Texas was 18/19 to drink till 1986.my 18th bday)this must have been summer off 83-84. Spandex, hair spray the whole 9ā€¦but boy did it change.šŸ˜ƒ Good times. ---

UPDATE: The YouTube channel the video is owned by the author of the lyrics. He was a writting partner to the other guitarist, and I donā€™t know if I ever met him. Iā€™ve reached out to him and invited him here to post the lyrics and anything else he wants.šŸ˜ƒ I donā€™t know if he and Brent (the guitarist/music writter) are in touch, or whatā€™s available as far as more footage, but letā€™s cross our fingers.šŸ†’ ---
