I just watched Jindal for a few minutes. He seemed so nervously goofy and desperately folksy that I just couldn’t take it anymore. I agree that he hasn’t advanced his White House hopes one iota, and has probably hurt them. ---

And since the OP makes it clear that this project is on the table among others, as does Jindal, the accusation of lying is misplaced, and should be retracted. ---

I don’t get why the OP gets so upset about it either. What if B.J had said between Chicago and Minneapolis as an example, or NY and Atlanta? Would there have been a similar OP? There’s half a dozen high speed light rail projects on the table, and the LV LA one has been on the table for some 20 years. Maybe the OP can enlighten us on what it is about the LV LA maglev project that is so offensive that even mentioning it in conjunction with the stimulus money that it’s eligible for makes his forehead vein pop. ---

And if Jindal had said, “$8 billion for high-speed rail projects, such as a ‘magnetic levitation’ line from Rush Limbaugh’s house to a oxycontin lab in Duluth,” that would have been just as innocent a ferinstance. Just because it isn’t specifically \*in \*the bill doesnt mean it’s not a high speed train idea … am I right, people? Ferchrisakes, it’s obvious that “Disneyland to Las Vegas” is the latest center square on Right Wing Buzz Word Bingo. ---
