Bodegas, haram, and induction to sin

This is a Shiite idea and not an Islamic concept.

All Hudna is a truce. There is no lying. You have read something of only religious bigotry that would have this point of view.

Alternatively its like saying “Christians believe birth control is forbidden by the bible”. Some Christians do believe that. But only certain parts of the faith.

Faithful readers of the Fatwa Corner will recognize the question. And the response is usually something on the order of, “Of course, you really shouldn’t sell that stuff (pork products, alcohol, etc.), but you’re allowed to make a living. Just make a small donation to charity for each haram item you sell, and we’ll call it square.” In other words, Islam, like most religions, and in spite of the stereotype we have of it, is good at looking the other way.

Safe but incorrect. Just add the word “most” and we’ll all be happy. (Indonesia is the sixth biggest importer of alcohol in the world.)
