Body shaming is bad, yes. But to me it is worse when it is done hypocritically; that is to say when it is done by someone who would themselves likely be the target of body-shaming. It’s like the bully who cries foul when he himself is bullied. “Bullying is wrong but, hey, suck it up; if anyone deserves to be bullied it’s you”. ---

If he thinks there’s a rational reason why it’s okay in the one case and not the other and he’s wrong, then the name could be “irrationality”, but it could be something else, like having incorrect facts as a starting point. We’d need more information. ---
