I’ve noticed several occasions when a poster will quote someone and then say “bolding mine” afterwards, but I never see any bolding inside the quote.

I wonder if you can’t bold something inside a quote? Let’s see:

> [@Sam](#):
>
> This word has been **bolded**.

Nope, it doesn’t seem to work.

It may be the browser you’re using. In the quote in your post, I can see the word “bolded” in bold type.

But you _can_ change the color to emphasize a word. I’ve done it. It works.

Firefox tells me that bolded is bolded in your quote. So does Netscape and IE.

It’s probably due to the choice of font in your browser. Take a read through [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=353932), which deals with exactly this issue.

If I change my font size, I do see the bolding. Thanks!
