We’ve got some lemon juice strong enough to make my eyes water. If there’s anything left after the next round of polishing, I’ll drip some on, see what happens. Should be a few days.
Thought I’d given an update. The rock in question dissolved into several small stones (about the size of a match head, some smaller) after the third round of polishing. They’re now resting comfortably with their similar-sized brethren in a little jar on the mantel.
