I don’t even have a penis.

Thanks for the info (and compliment on my car), \*\* peritrochoid \*\*. I have an AWD van I take when the snow gets really nasty. I will keep this thread in mind when it comes time to buy new tires.

Thank you sir. I’ve spent many hours debating, both here and IRL with folks, trying to get them to understand that we’re not all losers with lights on our tire stems and Windshield Wiper Nozzles.

It’s a losing battle, but when I get done with my car, it’ll speak for itself. I hope.

a) What’s a tyre stem?
b) You can put lights on them?!

The valve stem is where you hook up the hose to put air in the tire.

That cap that covers the valve is sometimes replaced with a cap containing an LED. Washer nozzles can have the same thing done to them.

The people who do that call it “modification.” The rest of us that care about tasteful aesthetics and proper performance gains call it “[rice](http://www.riceboypage.com/).”

Consider yourself lucky that you’re not being exposed to those same disgusting trends in Oz.

Yeah. I blame APC and the magazine industry…

See, so many kids that get into the Import scene think that all the secrets are in the magazines, and in the movies. So when they see APC advertising the “Hot New LED!” for their windshield fluid nozzles, or wherever, they buy them up.

It’s sad, and irritating. It’s hard enough getting respect outside of the Import scene, having morons in their stock Civic with a 4" exhaust _tip_ and little flashing lights everywhere makes it that much harder.

Too late, I’m afraid. LEDs, neon on the underframe, back seat ripped out to fit humungous subwoofers, audio manufacturer stickers up the side of the body and windows, wings that are impossibly huge…

Aaaah yes, youthful overcapitalisation. Rice has been in Australia for years and years already, unfortunately.

Yeah, it’s big with Asians, Choccos (e.g. Lebos) and Westies (i.e. living in the “cheaper” Western suburbs).

Oh well, not everyone can have great taste like me!

You really should send that to me … so I can … umm … check it’s health. Yeah, that’s it. 😉

Yep. The real deal. Scarlett Red with white Le Mans stripes - matching colour coded De Luxe “Pony” interior. It’s getting a whole bunch of “modern” Shelby bits and pieces fitted as we speak. Mostly to do with modern suspension and brakes and rack and pinion steering. They’re Shelby parts so I’m not concerned about keeping the car “perfectly” original. Metal wears out - even Mustang metal. These new bits are titanium tubing and aluminium billet “coil over shock” suspension with kevlar rose ball joints etc etc. THe car will handle like a Porsche when it’s finished.

Nonetheless, it keeps a low profile - no need to put a car like that too far into the public domain but yeah, like all cities we have a main boulevarde where all the “Fast and Furious” crowd hang out. I’m 41 years of age and my best friend has a 21 year old son who’s into that scene. He begged me and begged me to no avail. I will NOT, under any circumstances, take the Shelby down that particular boulevarde. It’s not why I own the car. But I will say this… the car’s in my local town’s premier exhaust shop at the moment, and apparently every car nut for 200 miles has dropped in to ogle over it. It’s actually brought a lot of business to the owner of the shop he tells me.
