I don’t go to baseball games, but I do go to hockey games and the only time I boo the Kings is when I feel like they are not giving an honest effort and mailing it in. ---

The numbers speak for themselves - whatever stereotypes east coast fans want to cling to in order to help reinforce their misplaced sense of superiority is fine. But everyone knows the truth. New York fans are just bandwagoners. ---

And as much as it seems like I’m trying to portray New York baseball fans as worse than others, they’re not. The truth is that they’re about the same. By and large, fans come out when the team is good and don’t come out when the team is bad, with very few teams on the ends of the spectrum that either can’t get a crowd going even when the team is good or draw crowds even when the team isn’t so hot (Oakland being a good example of the former and the Dodgers being a good example of the latter). ---
