# Book title

I am trying to find the title of a book which I read circa 1960’s. It was in the the Reader’s Digest Condensed books. Brief synopsis : a child whose parents were Indian and British returns to stay with their grandmother in India. It is a biographical observation of customs and mores. I don’t believe R. Godden wrote it, but I could be mistaken. I have always wanted to read it in the full length version. Wikepedia list was no help. I would appreciate any help in identifying the title. thanks.

**dirksenshoe** , this is the wrong place for this thread: This forum is for discussion of the workings of this message board itself. As it happens, though, we do have a forum for discussion of books and other art forms (including a great many “what was this book I read?” questions), called Cafe Society.
