It’s not that I don’t like drunken Vimes. It’s that I think (since in some ways his alcoholism is played for laughs in the Guards! Guards! in a way that it’s not later on) that I appreciate him more having seen what his addiction is like and how he deals with it before I saw just how bad it really was when he was “brung low.”
