A Method For Madness by David Gerrold, #5 in the “War against the Cthorr” series. Long anticipated. Might occur one day.
Shadowplay, by Tad Williams. The sequel to Shadowmarch. Due out next year.
A Dance with Dragons, by George R. R. Martin. “A song of Ice and Fire”, of course! Maybe next year?
Metalswarm, by Kevin J. Anderson, #6 in the “Saga of the Seven Suns”, due next year. He’s a hack, but it gives me guilty pleasure to read this.
The Last Dangerous Visions, edited by Harlan Ellison. The most famous book never written. Maybe in some alternate universe it was published, and I can obtain it via L-Space. Ook?

Feast of Souls, by C.S. Friedman, expected release January 2007. One of my absolute favorite writers, and the first book of a new series - the only bad part is that I’ll probably be waiting 2-3 years apiece for the next couple of books to learn what happens 🙂

Why, back in my day, we had 2nd ed. for twenty damn years without a significant update! Hmf. Damn whipperschnappers with their newfangled books… Well, at least they’re not actually issuing the books as collectible trading cards. Yet. 😛
Me, I’m waiting on the translation of _Day Watch_, by Sergei Lukyanenko. I’m also interested in whatever China Mieville may have in the pipes. Despite my ultimate WTF? reaction to it, KJ Bishop’s The Etched City was easily good enough to keep my interested in her as well.

The final chapter in Dean Koontz’s _Frankenstein_. The second book was superflous and did not further the story. But I liked the first book enough that I want to finish it.

The Irish has been available to pre-order since 1999, used to have a release date of Oct 2000 IIRC, now showing Dec 06. I’ve even contacted the publisher and they don’t know when or even if it’ll ever be published. ☹

There are several, but I’m still waiting for the last one of Jean Auel’s Earth’s Children series.
I know the last one was bad, but I’ve invested too much time reading this series to not finish it. Even if the last one is awful.
