I just now finished reading _The Da Vinci Code_ after having it strongly recommended to me by several friends. I found it enormously entertaining, a real page-turner, with plenty of intriguing mysteries, riddles, and clever twists. And a heaping helping of hooey about religion, the Church, etc. that I knew better than to take seriously.

Before that I read _How To Be Good_ by Nick Hornby; I’m about halfway through one of John Mortimer’s _Rumpole_ books; and I just started on a book of letters by Robertson Davies (after finishing one by Isaac Asimov).

Just finished _Atonement_ by Ian MacEwan. Excellent read.

Also recently read _Our Man in Havana_ by Graham Greene and Pratchett’s _Mort_. Both were quite good. I’m glad I didn’t give up on Pratchett after his god-awful _The Colour of Magic_ - he’s actually improved quite a lot.
