Google “The family”, there is literally an ultra-right wing political/religious group that worships all heads of state because they could only have achieved that position with God’s mandate…(though like all “conservatives” I’m sure they have a problem with Obama…totally because of his politics though since he’s such an EXTREME LIBRUL) This is almost assuredly in the same vein of little Curtis. ---

Caveat: I don’t hate the USA and I don’t want it destroyed. I think it would be pretty easy to take the USA towards fascism. I already think patriotism and the display of patriotic symbols is kind of over-the-top, and in some places the respect for soldiers practically turns into veneration. In the last 10 years we’ve seen people trade some freedom for the illusion of more security, and I think that more violence, particularly targeted at John Q. Public, would expedite that trend. Right now, I see a lot of that, and while I don’t think it’s going to destroy America, I do think that the changes of the last 10 years have had a significant effect in chipping away at the USA I was born and raised in. So I guess, much as it depresses me to say it, just have everybody keep on with what they’re doing, for a couple of generations. ---

This is exactly how I feel, and it’s driven home every time I visit the US.
