Wow, yah I just got out of there! Now I’m back in New Orleans where it’s 73 and sunny.
The skating was great! I went to the Ladies competitions and the Exhibition Gala. I have been watching on TV and streaming on the internet since the 2010 Olympics, but I had never been to an actual event before, and this was the World’s Championships (the top event in non-Olympic years). My favourite, Gracie Gold, didn’t end up medaling, but an American did (Ashley Wagner), and the Russian who won the Gold medal set a new world record as far as points.
I had a pretty good seat for the competitions, behind the Kiss and Cry area. For the Gala, I happened to have a front row seat, which was amazing. (Pro tip: if you ever are aware of an event like that coming up, subscribe to the venue’s mailing list before hand. The TD Garden sent an email out a couple days before the tickets were released giving a code to get seats a day or two before the general public).
