# Boston Trivia-Curley's Desk

For Boston-area dopers: what happened to Mayor Curley’s desk? Curley was a notorious mayor-he was widely known to be corrupt, but many people liked him. Anyway, I remember reading that his desk disappeared, sometime in the early 1970’s-the rumor back then was that William Bulger (the notorious MA senate president) had stolen it and taken it to his home. I haven’t heard anything about the desk-assume it was the property of the City-but what does that matter to a politician. I believe Curley’s last mayoral term was in the later 1940’s?
Anybody know about this bit of trivia?
