I just want to admit to something right now. When I first read the OP of the other thread, I thought for a brief moment, “what the hell are you doing online on this forum if you’re in such a bad place in your life?” This is that instinctual, you aren’t even thinking about it, automatic reaction that you just can’t control. Then, after a few seconds of critical thought, I figured, “She’s probably at a library, possibly to get out of the cold. She’s obviously depressed and wants support from her friends. Oh look, she’s been a member since 2006, so she probably has some good friends here on this message board. Man, I feel really bad for this gal. I hope she gets out of this bad situation quickly.” So, I guess the point of this post is that sometimes we have thoughts that are knee-jerk reactions, and if you go back and assess them for about 7/10ths of a second, you might realize that they weren’t worth the neurons firing that created them. If bot3’s opinions are real, and he’s not just trolling, then obviously there’s something wrong with his brain-to-mouth filter. ---

Nowadays Internet access is easily available and in many places free. Perhaps some less internet-savy people don’t recognize this and feel that it is a luxury commodity that someone in dire need shouldn’t be wasting their resources on. This is a statement of ignorance, not necessarily one of evil. However, that being said, I stand by what I said earlier about bot3 being an ass. ---

The Internet/cell phone thing is always hilarious. This isn’t 1995. It’s time to update your ideas about what constitutes an obscenely luxurious item. And all this “maybe she’s on the Internet to apply to jobs” talk is beside the point. So the fuck what if she’s on the Internet to play around? There is nothing remotely wrong with that.
