> If Sanders would have conceded like an adult after his butt kicking in New York, then those on the left of center could have unified behind Hillary and a few flakes throwing their votes away on Jill Stein or pointless write ins would have had no influence on the election.

The evidence is that the Sanders supporters who voted for Trump were people who were never going to vote for Clinton anyway (they weren’t democrats). Sanders appealed to some on the other side. When Sanders was gone they went back to whoever the conservative candidate was or voted third party.

> Party seems to have had something to do with it — Sanders-Trump voters were much less likely than Sanders-Clinton or Sanders-third party voters to have been Democrats. Likewise, approval of President Barack Obama appears to be related — Sanders-Trump voters approved of Obama much less than other Sanders primary voters.

[Current polling](http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/370286-poll-biden-sanders-oprah-all-lead-trump-big-in-2020-matchups) suggests Trump would lose to Sanders or Biden or Oprah.

They are all we have to go on for now.

Besides, Trump was three points behind in the polls on election day. The poll above shows a much larger gap (nine to seventeen points).
