You know, I’ve never seen ‘Hidden Dragon, Crouching Tiger’. 1 and 3 are surely Chow Yun Fat and Michelle Yeoh. They were all after a jade sword, if I remember my mother-in-law spoiling the film correctly, but I don’t know the names of any of the characters. That’s a DQ for you! ---

Kim Young Sam (his full name is always used) was elected president of South Korea after earlier being a political prisoner. Hmm. So we have a living male award-winning Canadian writer, less than 62 years old, whose last name begins with “Y.” I don’t know anyone who fits that description.
