Terry-Thomas was the much-put-upon Brit in _It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World_.
Correct as to Jefferson.
I actually forget the answer to the third question. D’oh! It’ll come to me.

Loved the Seuss question, **Spoons**!

DQ:

Last name start with “T”?

IQs:

Were you a noted bad guy of the American Revolution?
What was the same bad guy’s slightly different name in the movie _The Patriot_?
Are you a longtime Republican U.S. senator from Mississippi?

1. Is this Bernie Taupin? He’s John’s constant collaborator, but I think he’s primarily a lyricist and I’m not sure if they’ve done film scores together. If not, take a DQ.
2. I’m not Tom Berenger. :smack:
3. I don’t know - take another DQ.

I can picture the guy from the Patriot, but I can’t come up with either of the names. Traversomething, maybe? I’m not Trent Lott, so take two more DQs (in addition to the redo of your last one).
Outstanding DQs:

1. **George Takei** is famous for playing the role of Sulu in ‘Star Trek’; he now has a whole other life as a Twitterati (Twitteratus?) who passes on amusingly captioned photos. His gay-rights videos mocking an NBA star and an Arkansas school trustee went viral, and when a Tennessee senate committee approved a ‘Don’t Say Gay’ motion, he offered to let everyone say ‘Takei’ instead of ‘Gay’.

2. This is one of my favourite non-fiction writers from the 1970s, **Lewis Thomas** , best known for the books collecting essays that he wrote for the New England Journal of Medicine - The Lives of a Cell, The Medusa and the Snail, Late Night Thoughts on Listening to Mahler’s Ninth Symphony.

3. This is a Canadian icon - **Tom Thomson** , who died at the age of 39 before the Group of Seven was formed. His style of landscape painting, which captured the raw and powerful nature of the Canadian wilderness, was a huge influence on Canadian art for decades after his mysterious death.

I’ll use only one of my DQs at the moment, if I may -

Right on Bernie Taupin. The filmmaker was Terrence malick, who only puts out a very few highly regarded films.

I’m not Toby Keith (2). If I knew all the members of Queen, I wouldn’t be #3, but I’m not sure who wrote _Radio Ga Ga_, and I have no idea about Sal Futurevillian. Take two more DQs.

Correct on Toby Keith.

Sal Futurevillian, front man of the Future Villian Band, was played by Steve Tyler (and the band was played by Aerosmith) in the film _Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band_.

Roger Taylor, the drummer for Queen, wrote _Radio Ga Ga_.

I’ll reserve my DQs until the outstanding ones have been answered.

I was not born before 1935.

I’m not _consiglieri_ Tom Hagen of the Corleone crime family or President John Tyler. Take another DQ for the linguist.

A little tough to answer. I never fronted anything like the Marshall Tucker band (fun fact: there’ve been 27 members of the Marshall Tucker Band between 1972 and today, none of whom were named Marshall Tucker), but I have participated in project(s) known by the members names (e.g. John Smith and Mike Doe).

12. I am best known by my own name as opposed to a part of an ensemble
13. I was born before 1950
14. I was not born before 1935.
15. I’ve never fronted a full band that included my name, but you should see post 395 for caveats to this.

Col. Banastre Tarleton.
Col. Tavington (I forget his first name).
Correct as to Trent Lott, so I’ll revise the DQ: Are you a longtime Republican U.S. senator from Mississippi who never served as Majority Leader?

I’m still blanking on the mom issues person. Double d’oh! Early senility, I tells ya…

I don’t know any British musicians who fit the answers given so far, so I yield my two (not four) current DQs to whoever’d like to ask them.

IQs:

Did your mom have a purposefully counterproductive hobby?
Were you the last person of your party to hold a particular top job?
Did you lose your vision in one eye while living in a famous house?

I’m not Mick Taylor or Pete Townsend. I’m not Tony Banks either (I don’t actually think he plays drums, but those prog guys always surprise me so it’s worth a guess). You probably get another DQ.

Every night, Telemachus’s mother Penelope undid all of her weaving from the day before to stall her many suitors while her husband Odysseus was away.
Zachary Taylor was the last Whig to serve as President.
Theodore Roosevelt was blinded in one eye during an amateur boxing match while President. It was kept from the public at the time.
