Are you Paul Carey, from _Airplane!_? ---

**DLR** , you. Are. _Awesome_. Yes, I am # Paul Carey with whom Shep, Capt. Kramer’s dog, was [just a little too friendly.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4tU3ZRFoUI) Be sure to watch Kramer at 1:18 as he steps through the mirror (some people don’t notice it, no matter how many times they’ve seen _Airplane!_). How did you figure it out, **DLR**? I’m impressed. Thought I had you all. And please start a new thread for May. ---

Still, that’s a deep cut. Well done! ---

It’s one of my favorite movies, too. So many great one-liners, and eccentric characters like the sassy Johnny and people who speak jive. I’ve watched that scene nearly a dozen times and never caught the joke. ---

I had not seen that before. The director(s) do a great job with the cut between the Kramer-and-reflection shot and the gag shot, which kinda hides the effect, but it’s still remarkable. ---

Exactly! A very clever sight gag. ---

It’s better than the entrance of William Shatner in the sequel. [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8X2Ydzx47U](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j8X2Ydzx47U) ] [Previous page](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/botticelli-april-2025/1016476.md?page=14)
