I got nothing… just the observation that “technically” a flyboy in WW2 would probably be part of the Army, as the Air FOrce didn’t exist. So, we MAY be looking for a fictional WW2 pilot.

I am P-38 pilot and POW Col Joseph “von” **R** yan, USAAF, star of the book _Von Ryan’s Express_ (and its sequel) and of the movie based on it, in which I was portrayed by Frank Sinatra.
