One of questions 2 or 3 must be Obi Wan Kenobi, but I don’t know which. I’m going to go with 2. Take 2 or 3 more DQs.

I feel like I should know 2 and/or 3 but they’re not coming to mind, so take 3 further DQs.

Previous IQs:

Were you Mork from Ork’s boss? - Orson
Did you recently leave your job at the Trump White House? - Omarosa, formerly of The Apprentice
After early reluctance, did you date a coworker and eventually marry that person? - Michelle Obama

DQs:

Fiction writer?
Greatest fame before 1939?

Two DQs reserved.

IQs:

Were you a police officer in India before turning to your much-better-known career?
Did Tilda Swinton play you early in her film career?
Were you the celebrated conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra?

Still drawing blanks here - have some more DQs, if you need them. I’ll take a wild stab at Oscar Wilde for the first one, though I can’t imagine this being very likely.

IQs:

  1. Did you market a successful brand of microwave popcorn?
  2. Were you Alexander the Great’s mom?
  3. Were you a 20th Century German conductor and composer?

Ack, I nearly went for Orwell but I thought he was marginally less likely to be a policeman than Wilde! I knew he fought in the Spanish Civil War, but not his earlier career.

I am not Otto Klemperer (I think that fits for 3 but to be fair I’m not sure if he wrote music). For #2, I am not… Orestia (wild guess)? No guess for #1. Take DQs as appropriate.

We are going to be well over 20 once all outstanding DQs are taken, please can someone remind me of the rules at this stage?

DQ: Known for science?

holding 3 DQs

We usually allow players to ask their remaining DQs, but it’s up to you. We don’t hold grudges.

Quite so.

Hmm. No British scientist I know fits the answers given so far.

I’m pretty sure all my answers are accurate, it is possible the person is too obscure but I would be surprised. I suspect someone will have the required inspiration shortly.

Shall we say the deadline is 2pm (GMT) Monday for solving it? I’ll try to check in occasionally over the weekend to answer any further questions/guesses.

DQs:

  1. First name Oliver or Oswald?
  2. Known for psychology or neurology?

Final DQ:

  1. Are you Oliver Sacks?

Yes to all; I am celebrated neurologist and writer

Oliver Sacks, probably best known as the author of The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat.

Darn, I had a really good one ready for P just in case :). Congratulations, Professor!

I did wonder about answering no to “best known for the Arts” as he is mainly known for his writing, but given his writing is nonfiction and about science I think I give the correct answer.

The reason for my blunder about his nationality is he lived most of his life in New York, so I didn’t realise he was actually British until I had to look him up to answer a later DQ. Apparently he always sort of intended to apply for US citizenship but never got round to it.

…and so on to P.
