Correct on Zane Grey. (Good books. I was ten or so when I read them - I keep telling myself I ought to reread them to see if they’re really as good as I remember their being.) Zaccheus, the man who climbed a tree to see Jesus, according to the old Sunday-school song. Yet another man named Zed, this one from _MiB_. Hmmm… Male protagonist from a non-SF American movie made (and set) in the last quarter-century; still alive; has not appeared in any other works. We’re at 19 DQs already, and I haven’t a clue. ---

If this character has only been in one movie and no other media, I’m wondering if he actually qualifies as “at least as famous as Botticelli.” But, his identity reveal will probably make me slap myself and wonder how I couldn’t think of his name. For now, I’m clueless. DQ: Is the movie based on a true story? DQ in reserve ---
