Correct on Don Quixote.  
Dannay was one of two authors (I can never remember the other’s name) who wrote together as Ellery Queen.  
Ellery Queen Jr.  
IQ1: That famous day in history, did a young man tell you he didn’t want to go?  
IQ2: Did you and your girlfriend go on an interstate killing spree in the late 1950s?  
IQ3: Was Bruno Hauptmann executed for kidnapping and killing your son?
