I don’t have a guess. I figure a Republican U.S. Rep. from that time frame, east of the Mississippi must be from New England or perhaps upper Midwest (Ohio; Indiana; Michigan; etc.) Certainly the Deep South and Mid-South were 100% Democrat, or close to it. But no guess. ---
